Day 11-Smoke on the water

The fire on the Georgia/Florida border that started April 6th is still burning.  The last that we heard, it has burned over 143,000 acres.  And proof of that is currently floating in the air and settling on the cars as far away as St. Augustine.

That line of grey right over the trees on the other side of the street from our AirBnB is actually smoke that has been blown here from the fire.  When you walk outside, your nose says there’s a barbecue going somewhere, but alas, no roasting food is around. And our pretty red Kia is now polka dotted with ash.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters battling this blaze and the people, livestock and homes that are threatened.
