We were able to get settled early yesterday, so Mom and I headed out to find an early dinner in Niagara Falls. This is our adorable AirBnB cottage. And Mom and Red Rover.
After driving around a bit, we finally settled in and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in the Falls Avenue complex. Since we were already parked, we decided to walk off our poutine down by the water.
If you have ever used a white noise machine and set it to running water to go to sleep, this is not the sound you get unless you’ve got the volume turned up to 11.
The sheer power of the water coming over the Falls is an awesome sight. The mist can be thick and you can feel it from the other side of the four lane parkway. You can feel it in your bones.
On the Canadian side, the boats that go up to the Falls are the Hornblower Cruises. It is amazing how tiny the boats look next to the falls, when there are probably a couple hundred people on board.
While at the Falls, we noted the incline train cars that go up and down to Table Rock station.
Then, we had to applaud the Canadian work ethics when we spotted these two guys hanging out against the building. There were storm warnings in the area (and we did experience hail), but these guys opted to finish the job before them.
There are several other places to see that we’re quite excited for, including the butterfly conservatory and the Hornblower cruise. Maybe we’ll even try out the Whirlpool Aero car. So much to do and less time to do it in!
